Dora E. Cawley, MD

Dora Cawley, MDDr. Dora Elisa Cawley is Director of Medical Aesthetics and a medically supervised weight loss program at Cawley Medical & Aesthetic Center. She took over the growing Medical Aesthetics practice in 2000 to help meet the skin care concerns of both women and men, to help them look and feel their best. Dr. Cawley brought a medically supervised weight loss program to the practice in 2014, helping patients with significant medical problems due to excess weight to effect reduction in weight, thus improving their medical conditions and in a number of instances reducing the dose and/or number of medications. The weight loss programs have continued to grow, enabling men and women to improve their health because of the weight loss, as well as providing them with information and guidance on nutrition and fitness to maintain their weight.

Dr. Dora (Dori) Cawley grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, and attended the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and in French. She then attended graduate school at UT Austin, receiving a Master’s degree in French, before attending Texas Tech University School of Medicine and receiving her degree as a Doctor of Medicine in 1983. She served a one year internship in Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, completing the remaining two years of Pediatric residency at St. Luke’s Hospital / Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital UH Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was board certified in Pediatrics in 1987, and practiced Pediatrics in Waco before taking time off for her family. She then focused her attention on behavior in children and adolescents, seeing children on a limited basis, before turning to Medical Aesthetics in 2000.

She has been involved in a number of community organizations, serving on the board for Virginia’s House - Dr. Goodall’s House - A Family Resource Center (Child Advocacy Center, CASA, Mentor Program, Crime Victim’s Assistance Program), Graham ISD Board of Trustees, GISD Student Health Advisory Committee, Parents as Teachers Advisory Board, and the Run For The Children 10K/5K/1K benefiting Virginia’s House - Dr. Goodall’s House, which she created in 2006 and for which she continues to serve as chair.
